Dandie Wedding: 232 Days to go!

Dandie Wedding: 232 Days to go!

Hello my loyal readers! It’s been a few weeks since my last blog post, and over a month since my last wedding planning post.

My fiancé and I have been working so hard on the wedding the past couple of weeks and doing our best to knock out the remainder of our vendors. I’m happy to report that we have locked in all our vendors for our big day!

I am so relieved that the foundation of the event is built and now I can start thinking more about the day of magic, and bringing everything to life.

Just to give you an overview of what vendors we locked in for our wedding:

Venue
Photographer
Caterer
Baker
Florist
Hairdresser
Officiant
DJ
Rental Company
Bartender
Liability Insurance for our Venue

Some weddings end up having way more vendors than we do, while some have less. One that I really wanted but knew we didn’t have to have was a videographer. We reached out to a number of them in our area but couldn’t find one that was in our price range, especially after factoring in the cost of everything else.

Even though I am bummed that we can’t afford to hire a videographer, I know our photographer will do an amazing job at capturing the day for us. Knowing this helps me let go of my dream of having a ten minute video montage to this once in a life day for us. Plus, I think my fiancé is secretly happy about it because he already doesn’t like his photo being taken. Having someone else following him around for the day was probably gonna be a little much for him.

One of my many favorite photos from our engagement session!

Something I have repeatedly talked about in these posts is the shock of how much everything is when planning a wedding. I felt like no amount of online research I did ahead of time quite prepared me for hearing some of the quotes I have received over the past eleven months from various vendors.

To give you all an idea, my fiancé and I are trying our best to stick with a $15,000 budget, counting part of the honeymoon within that number. So far we are doing a good job at staying within our means, or finding a way to make certain costs work for us. More than anything I have had to give up and adjust some expectations of the day to find a good middle ground with things.

Like a coworker of mine said one time:

“It’s like trying to have a champagne wedding on a beer only budget.”

So what’s next with Wedding Planning:

Now that we have our vendors lined up, my fiancé and I are looking to book the major parts of our honeymoon like transportation, lodging, and a car rental.

I am also FINALLY going wedding dress shopping in the next few weeks! I am so excited to feel more like a bride and a little bit less like an event planner.

Something that has also been coming up in discussion more is the rehearsal dinner. Since we will be seeing our families more than usual with the upcoming holidays, it will be easier to see what they are thinking for that part of our wedding weekend as well.

I know this post was short, but wanted to share the happy news with all of you about how we have locked in the major parts that make a wedding.
I am excited that we are going to finally start thinking more about the ceremony readings, music to be played, decorations, and how we are going to make the day reflect us as a couple.

Until next time,
